ThomsonAdsett has appointed four new principals to its senior leadership team.

Our principals are deeply knowledgeable and passionate about their sector or area of speciality. They are responsible for providing leadership across the practice, identifying new business opportunities, overseeing project delivery, and sharing their knowledge with colleagues, clients and partners.

Brisbane-based architect and associate Alex du Plessis has been promoted to principal in recognition of his vast experience and expertise. With almost 20 years in the industry and a longstanding commitment to leading ThomsonAdsett’s design and visualisation nationally, Alex’s new role will now incorporate project oversight and business development for the Retail & Commercial team.

CEO Cameron Frazer says “This transition is underway, with Alex already well-known to many of the team’s clients due to his existing work and relationships. Reflecting that all principals bring their own speciality to the role, Alex will retain his important design leadership role across the practice.”

Meanwhile, former Brisbane-based senior project coordinator Jeremy Gilmore has relocated and is now the principal leading ThomsonAdsett’s Rockhampton studio in Queensland.

Jeremy is a regional boy at heart, having grown up in Western Australia and Byron Bay in New South Wales, and he has worked in several regional settings including three years in Cloncurry in outback Queensland. He brings over a decade of architectural experience across the aged care, commercial and education sectors, and he is committed to continuing ThomsonAdsett’s long and proud history in Rockhampton.

CEO Cameron Frazer says that “Rockhampton and Central Queensland are very important to ThomsonAdsett, and we are committed to serving the many communities that live and work in these regions.”

In addition, Jeremy will continue to service the South Pacific region.

In ThomsonAdsett’s Sydney studio, two new principals recently joined our long-term principal and partner Robert Puflett.

Katharina Koschitz has 20 years of architectural experience across multiple sectors including health, education, social housing and retirement living. With her recent experience on significant health projects, including Westmead Children’s Hospital and Campbelltown Hospital, she is well placed to lead the charge on expanding our health capability in New South Wales and nationally.

Daniel Covarrubias (pictured, right) has been promoted to principal. With almost 20 years of architectural experience, Daniel has been with ThomsonAdsett for four years and in that time has proven himself as an excellent project leader and client relationship manager. His promotion recognises his recent accomplishments in the retail, residential and affordable housing sectors. Daniel’s focus will be on driving retail opportunities in New South Wales.

The new principals represent a significant step forward for ThomsonAdsett nationally and we warmly welcome them to their new roles.
