Vertical schools on the rise – Fortitude Valley State Secondary College

ThomsonAdsett is excited to be delivering the new vertical Fortitude Valley State Secondary College. We’ve worked tirelessly to ensure the smooth delivery of the project ahead of the 2020 school year. The new flagship state secondary school will deliver a state-of-the-art education facility for local students.

At ThomsonAdsett’s engagement, the project had an extremely challenging program and budget issues. We worked with Hutchinson Builders to develop options to save money without impacting on the functionality or design. The design, developed by Cox Architecture, included the refurbishment of an existing building and the construction of an eight-storey building and associated external works

We closely collaborated with the Principal (who was appointed after the design phase) to adapt the original design to better suit the management and operations of the school. ThomsonAdsett was also engaged to develop the Furniture Brief. This included hosting an engaging workshop with the school leadership team to understand their developing educational philosophy.

It was a pleasure to recently host representatives from Brisbane Catholic Education and Queensland Catholic Education Commission, alongside Hutchinson Builders and TPG Architects, on a project tour.

ThomsonAdsett has a longstanding history of delivering primary and tertiary education facilities throughout Australia. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed working with the Department of Education and Hutchinson Builders on this flagship project. ThomsonAdsett has also recently delivered a new six-storey building at North Lakes State College (City Campus) for the Department of Education.
