ThomsonAdsett is pleased to announce the appointment of Wei Yap Ooi as National Design Director.

Wei is a global award-winning architect with over 15 years’ experience. He has delivered design excellence on significant mixed use, health, education, seniors living, hospitality, retail and commercial projects valued up to $1.8b.

Wei says he’s looking forward to building on the firm’s rigorous approach to collaboration and design.

“I’m very excited about joining the ThomsonAdsett team,” he says.

“We’re committed to our practice having a strong focus on design. Our team is constantly exposed to new ideas shared through internal workshops and mentoring.

“We’re also continuing to apply our expertise across all sectors to an increasingly intertwined marketplace.

“The built environment industry and the major issues it faces are rapidly changing.

“We’re looking into the future to determine what those changes might be, and how we can best support our clients moving forward.”

Wei says the firm is already implementing strategies to better communicate architectural ideas to clients from all sectors.

“We’re streamlining our systems and processes, so our clients can benefit from thoroughly-considered design outcomes, both now and into the future.”

Wei has worked for prestigious local and international practices and is a practice-based academic heavily involved in architectural education. He has taught at the University of Melbourne, University of Singapore, RMIT and Deakin University.

This leadership appointment represents an exciting new era for ThomsonAdsett and our clients.
