With a rich history in delivering exceptional design projects on a national and international scale, this month marks 50 years in business for ThomsonAdsett. From its outset, ThomsonAdsett has been designing projects that make lasting contributions to communities across various sectors.
This deeply-ingrained care ethos has earned the company numerous awards and recognition, including being featured in London’s BD World Architecture list of the World’s Top 100 practices several years running.
After striking up a friendship while working together at Peddle Thorpe, it wasn’t long before Ian Thomson and Robert Adsett decided to go into business together, and so ThomsonAdsett was established in 1971, operating out of one room in St. Mary’s Convent in South Brisbane.
Today, ThomsonAdsett is one of the leading architecture and design firms in Australia, with studios located in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Rockhampton. The firm’s flexible design thinking is reflected across a range of sectors including seniors living, education & communities, retail & commercial, health, sports & leisure, tourism, hospitality and interiors.
“We’re proud of our rich history and the positive difference our projects continue to make in the community,” ThomsonAdsett CEO Cameron Frazer said. “Over the course of the last five decades, our business has designed countless projects, each delivering on our care ethos. We’re looking forward to celebrating 50 years in business this year, and at the core of that is our people and culture.”
