We’re delighted to be working with Sunshine Coast not-for-profit provider Sundale on the $250 million re-development of Nambour Village. ThomsonAdsett is delivering the master plan, architecture and interior design on this groundbreaking project.
ThomsonAdsett was first engaged to conduct an initial workshop with Sundale. This workshop facilitated the development of the project’s ‘vision’ and set the brief for the master plan and subsequent design.
Since then, our team has attended weekly workshopping sessions with Sundale’s development team. ThomsonAdsett’s project team includes Wayne Schomberg, Blake Challen, Wesley Lee, Ann-Maree Ruffles, Aaron Chen, Devin Botha, Mark Riley and Elissa Staff.
The design was developed through a truly collaborative process between Sundale, ThomsonAdsett, consultants and the local council.
The workshops allowed everyone involved to push the limits of innovation and respond openly to new concepts and ideas.
This has resulted in a village design unlike anything within the region.
The first stage is a “Village Heart” with retail shops including a clubhouse, theatre, cafe, corner store, salon and marketplace. It will also host an ageing-in-place apartment building with 72 one, two and three-bedroom units and a 154 studio unit care building with a hotel/hospitality model of accommodation.
The full master plan includes a Medical Centre, Wellness Centre, Child Care Centre, an additional 112 studio unit building, and 418 independent living units.
The project acts as a community hub, offering countless opportunities for locals to participate in public activities, meanwhile easily accessing the retail precinct.
Our design uses an ‘apartment-for-life’ model, allowing for independent living that can evolve with the needs of the resident.
The project will also inject $250m into the Nambour economy over the next 10 to 15 years.
We’ve loved working with Sundale on this fantastic project.
