Previously undeveloped, the new Taumeasina Island offers a luxury resort for international guests.

The design of the new Taumeasina Island Resort aims to minimise impact on the existing island’s topography, creating a harmonious link with the island’s natural beauty.

Recently completed, the development features a mix of hotel suites and private villa accommodation, as well as conference, retail and restaurant precincts, a water sports pavilion, wedding venue and bar. Part of the island’s redevelopment will also see the rejuvenation of open green spaces.

The major challenge of the project is to minimise the development’s footprint. Designs for inhabited areas of the island have been raised to cater for this. However, building heights are limited to two storeys to reduce their dominance on the landscape.
