We designed a new four-storey building that successfully integrates itself into the existing site topography.
The sensitive location of the site needed to be considered in the design, and to combat this challenge, we selected specific facade treatments that would lessen the impact of the structure on its surroundings.
Building orientation and sun shading hoods are used in the design to minimise solar heat gain and improve overall engery efficiency.
Our design provides a scaled transition between the new and old facilities, and an integration of gardens and pathways to complement and assist pedestrian traffic.
