Denmac Nominees – Darra Industrial Estate

The largest rooftop solar photovoltaic installation on an industrial building in Queensland.

ThomsonAdsett delivered two premium industrial buildings on a 29,000m² site.

Warehouse 1 is a 7,200m² facility for a metal fabrication company with space for 80 cars. The design includes an open production space as well as office and dispatch areas.

Warehouse 2 is a 4,000m² facility for a construction and civil hire company with space for 40 cars. The design includes an open production space with a 16-tonne crane beam, internal and external wash down facilities, a motor racing mechanic bay and offices.

Both buildings are constructed of a combination of steel framing and pre-cast concrete panels. The design incorporates many sustainability features including skylights and perforated roller doors, allowing natural light into the production areas. The roller doors and ridge vents also serve to naturally ventilate these areas. The buildings accommodate the largest rooftop solar photovoltaic installation on an industrial building in Queensland.
