We’re thrilled that our recently completed COS store in Brisbane’s CBD has now opened.
COS’s parent company, H&M, provided a fit out guide for the store, including planning, lighting and FF&E. Meanwhile, Woods Bagot provided the design concept for the Edward Street elevation. ThomsonAdsett was commissioned by Modus Projects to combine the external facade concept with H&M’s design brief.
The project’s major challenge was the construction of the facade, which involved detailing large glazed windows that sit within a cavity of a two-storey patterned brick-veneer wall. We were also required to deliver on a 3.6 metre frameless glass pivoting door, with all steelwork to be concealed where possible. ThomsonAdsett was able to identify and resolve these and other project design risks early on.
The intricate brickwork detailing was itself a challenge, with some bricks needing to be cut down to 30mm slivers so they could be utilised across the entire project.
There was a high level of collaboration with all parties including Modus Projects, the H&M Project Manager, H&M Designer and ThomsonAdsett’s Retail and Commercial Team. As a result, the project was delivered extremely efficiently, to the benefit of everyone involved.
