Riversdale Golf Club

Having been open since 1892, Riversdale is the second oldest golf club in Victoria. Revitalisation of a Melbourne iconic Golf icon.

One hundred years of history provided the backbone for the latest club redevelopment at Riversdale.

The aim was to provide a facility that could take Riversdale into the new century with improved facilities for members and a function space that could cater for special events and enrich the already-established Riversdale Cup, Australia’s second oldest amateur 72-hole tournament.

The design incorporated the existing 100-year-old guesthouse into a new 280-seat function room, 40-seat conference centre and a members’ lounge area including food and beverage facilities. New men’s and ladies’ locker areas were constructed including a new refurbished pro-shop.

ThomsonAdsett was also able to incorporate a member’s request for reinstating the historic St John Wood’s watchtower back into the character design of the building.
