A masterplan that identified critical shortfalls and provided practical solutions. A building design that enables peer-to-peer learning.

ThomsonAdsett was commissioned to masterplan the college and then design a new Year 7 building for Loreto College.

Our masterplan proposed several new buildings and spaces in response to feedback from students, staff, and parents. These included:

  • a new performing arts theatre and collaborative learning hub
  • an external amphitheatre
  • hospitality training areas
  • transformation of staff areas
  • identification of future-proofing developments.

Our design for the new Cruci building has enabled the college to increase its capacity. It also addressed shortfalls in music and drama space. In the long term, the building will expand to form a performing arts theatre.

The brief for this project was to provide a series of new teaching and learning spaces to accommodate an additional year level. Our response met this criteria and created internal and external learning settings through a series of curvaceous group learning spaces. As such, every square metre is utilised for teaching and learning.
