Hong Kong Adventist Hospital – Tsuen Wan
A two-stage revitalisation of a 50-year-old hospital block to accommodate new facilities and services
Situated on a sloped elongated site, the extension to the hospital meets challenges in its design and construction. The existing hospital comprises a 130-bed hospital block built in the 1960s, a nursing school and a 10-storey administrative block and staff quarters.
The nursing school and administrative block were demolished and a new hospital block was built to accommodate new wards, outpatient clinics, specialty and day surgery centres, operating theatres, various hospital services, an auditorium and new car parking facilities. The redevelopment project was carried out in two stages to maintain continuous operation of the hospital.
