A sense of scale that expresses innovation and placemaking. A differentiating space challenging typical associations. Permeability and respect to context.

This project provides apartment accommodation for over 400 students, structured around an engaging social inner core.

The design draws inspiration from the adjacent wool store buildings. A six-storey arch cuts through the building’s form to reflect the scale of nearby wool stores.

White precast concrete forms create a backdrop to celebrate the ‘individual’ within the wider university collective.

Views of the bay, iconic pier, station, library and city are afforded from rooms, study pods and social spaces on the rooftop.

The design maximises social interaction between residents by retaining lounges and social areas in a central location, wrapped around an atrium space.
