Refurbishment of two office floor levels, lobby, cafe and amenities, plus new end-of-trip facilities.
Located on the southern end of Queensland’s Gold Coast region, the modern commercial office tower at 35 Robina Town Centre Drive dominates the Robina skyline. Owned by Centuria, it comprises six levels of premier corporate accommodation and basement parking areas.
Project manager, APG, engaged ThomsonAdsett’s architecture and interior design teams to design a new feature entry and lift lobby, café and tenant-shared boardroom. New end-of-trip facilities were designed near the car park’s lift core, plus a new facilities management office. In addition, the existing bathroom and amenities spaces were refurbished on the ground floor, and the design will soon be rolled out across all floors.
The upgrade brings this ex-Telstra building in line with current functional and corporate trends with the introduction of formal and informal shared working spaces. The new café adds commercial viability by inviting the community in. Additionally, the new end-of-trip facilities add amenity and promote healthy living and inclusiveness for tenants via bike storage, a bike maintenance area, clothes drying racks, and facilities for people with disabilities.
Working in an existing operational building is often challenging, as is introducing end-of-trip facilities in an existing basement. The design issues were resolved effectively and ThomsonAdsett was engaged to provide construction phase services.
