This further expansion to the SunnyCare Residential Care facility will cator to the growing community in Sunnybank Hills.

The project delivers 66 additional private resident rooms, expanding the facility’s capacity to more than 130 residents and supporting Brisbane’s growing multicultural ageing community. Inspired by the traditional Chinese Siheyuan courtyard typology, the design arranges buildings around a central landscaped courtyard, creating welcoming spaces that foster connection, wellbeing and a strong sense of community. Stage 2 further strengthens residents’ connection to nature through outdoor terraces and thoughtfully curated landscaping featuring culturally significant planting, providing opportunities for rest, movement and social interaction. Catering for a cultural and linguistically diverse cohort of residents, the building design references the Asian heritage of the people who will call this place home.
