Kenmore Baptist Church

The Kenmore Baptist Church site was a major design challenge as there was a loss of over 20% of effective site area due to the nature corridor traversing the site , the serious grades and the added pressure of the high carparking requirements.

The solution and a major design driver was found in a fractured planning geometry which meshed with the programme and resolved the very tight building/landscape/parking interface . This same geometry translates into 3 dimensions in a series of linked crystalline rocklike forms thrusting out of the site, and from the sandstone bedrock that underlies it.
