After first joining the firm in 1986, Tim was one of the first associate architects with ThomsonAdsett. In 1993, he established his own architectural practice in Cairns far north Queensland to pursue his particular passion for tropical architecture.
With staffing of up to 12 people, Tim's private practice in North Queensland grew to be one of the larger locally owned practices in Cairns. Having managed over 1,000 commissions in the North Queensland region from Cooktown to Townsville, Tim has been instrumental in many of the residential resort developments in Cairns and Port Douglas, some of which have become benchmarks of the industry and region.
Through a thorough appreciation of the task and the provision of high quality, cost effective architectural services, Tim has developed a strong local , national and overseas clientele base that offers repeat and ongoing commissions . Over the past 15 years, and through this client base, Tim's local work has also extended to include substantial commercial, retail projects throughout the Cairns region.
Additionally, Tim's experience encompasses several aspects of social architecture including substantial remote , indigenous, aged care and community projects. Tim has worked in various project roles in many remote communities around far north Queensland including Horn Island, Thursday Island, Injinoo, Bamaga, Weipa, Napranum, Mapoon, Kowanyama, Aurukun, Mornington Island, Hopevale, Cooktown, Ayton, Wujul Wujal, Palm Island.
Through working in the building industry for almost 30 years, and now as a senior member of the profession Tim's substantial practice and management experience on a wide range of corporate and community projects ensures that architectural commissions are delivered to achieve desired outcomes. Having recently rejoined the firm, Tim brings to ThomsonAdsett a wealth of experience in architecture in the tropics.
