Ben has a wide range of architectural design experience, encompassing Civic, Mixed-use, Multi-Residential, Commercial, Community Masterplanning and Retirement Living developments, as well as in Health, Aged Care and Aviation Infrastructure.
Ben’s design approach focuses on achieving both developer and end-user outcomes. He is adept at up-front design and planning, master planning, quick response design and conceptual design solutions, through to disciplined, comprehensive design development. Ben has developed an expertise at delivering projects under tight time and budget constraints, and has a knack for finding innovative approaches that can reduce delivery time frames and keep a project under budget.
Ben has been the lead designer on several significant new projects in Papua New Guinea. These include Airvos Apartments, a $16 million new luxury residential block in Port Moresby; and The International Hotel, a $50 million development incorporating prefabricated construction modules, creating a high quality high-rise building while significantly reducing construction time.
Recently Ben has delivered over 54 school upgrades as part of the Australian Government’s Building the Education Revolution stimulus package. This was a fast-tracked school infrastructure program that pushed the limits of delivering bespoke upgrades to schools all across Australia. Ben worked with consultants and user groups to ensure quality outcomes for each school within constraints of time and budget.
Ben has worked as lead designer and client liaison on a number of Council-led civic improvement projects, most recently working with South Burnett Regional Council to completely redesign and reactivate the town centre at Kingaroy, in Queensland.
Ben was the lead designer on the Blue Care Kawana waters project, a landmark $160 million Seniors Living development planned for the Sunshine Coast with 250 serviced upscale apartments, a 128 bed Aged Care facility and community and health facilities on site.
