Civic projects

Community structures are the cohesive bonds that draw communities together. With every ThomsonAdsett project, involvement with and understanding of the community allows us to design creative spaces that strike the right balance to serve multiple municipal functions.

Civic and cultural facilities, by their very nature, attract diverse groups of users. Citizens and visitors of all ages, sizes, abilities and cultures use museums, galleries, libraries, halls, community centres, and tourist information centres. It is therefore particularly important to acknowledge this diversity and ensure usability by everyone.

We have delivered community projects of all shapes and sizes, accommodating large and small budgets, different procurement methods, different funding models and in remote and urban areas. We work as partners with the community to find a balance between the project budget, function, program and operating costs.

We enjoy helping clients foster community involvement and designing built forms that represent the collective aspirations of communities.
